Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Prooftree (the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

Data handling & deletion

Files you upload are stored in a private bucket. The app uses signed links for previews, so your data is not publicly accessible by default.

When you delete a file, the app removes the stored file and its thumbnail, then removes the timeline record. We may keep non-content operational logs and receipts (for example, deletion receipts) for safety, support, and auditability.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the Services, or have permission from a parent or guardian.

2. Accounts and authentication

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of access to your account. You agree not to misuse the Services or attempt to access them in an unauthorized manner.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:
- Violate any laws or regulations
- Infringe intellectual property rights
- Upload malicious code
- Interfere with or disrupt the Services
- Attempt to reverse engineer or bypass security

4. Content and submissions

You retain ownership of content you submit to the Services. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display your content solely to provide the Services.

5. Third-party services

The Services may integrate with third-party services (including authentication providers). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies.

6. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Services if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if required to protect the Services, users, or legal compliance.

7. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We disclaim all warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prooftree will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice.
